The Swift River covered bridge in Conway, New Hampshire was originally built in 1870, the version featured in this watercolor by Conrad Young is a restoration of the pedestrian only bridge from 1991.
Conrad Young considers himself fortunate to have grown up on farms all over Maine and New Hampshire. His father, a logger and blacksmith, also raised horses, so many of his childhood memories were of time spent in the woods and hayfields. His passion of the mountains, lakes, and woodlands is evident in the landscapes he enjoys capturing in watercolors. Each scene is a childhood memory with unique lighting, composition, and unusual arrangement of elements and colors. To learn more about Conrad, please visit his website www.watercolorbyconradyoung.com
