100 Year Old Bridge
The tranquil view of the century old bridge at Chocorua Lake in Tamworth, NH is puzzle-perfect in this painting by Jean Mertinooke. The inviting hues used by Jean Mertinooke capture the peacefulness of the area sometimes called the "matterhorn" of the White Mountains in early autumn.
When they were young, Jean and her twin sister, Joan, would take turns riding with their father on his mail route through rural Tamworth, New Hampshire. Childhood memories of scenic Mount Chocorua served as the inspiration for many of her area landscapes when she took up painting in 1954. She now lives in Kensington, NH.
